1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to Brill Academy, LLC ("Brill Academy," "we," "us," or "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Brill Academy website (brill.academy) and all related services, programs, and materials (collectively, the "Services").

By accessing or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use our Services.

For students under 18, a parent or legal guardian must review and accept these Terms on the student's behalf.

 


 

2. Eligibility and Account Registration

2.1 Age Requirements

Brill Academy programs are designed for middle school students ages 12-14. Enrollment requires:

  • A parent or legal guardian to complete registration on behalf of the student
  • Parental consent for the student's participation
  • Acknowledgment of these Terms and our Privacy Policy

2.2 Account Accuracy

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

2.3 Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or engage in conduct that we deem harmful to other users, our staff, or our Services.

 


 

3. Program Enrollment and Participation

3.1 Program Offerings

Brill Academy offers entrepreneurship education programs in various formats:

  • 4-Week Intensive
  • 8-Week Accelerator
  • Brill Academy Private (1:1 Mentorship)

Program details, schedules, and pricing are subject to change. Current offerings are available on our website.

3.2 Enrollment Process

Enrollment is confirmed upon:

  • Completion of enrollment form
  • Payment of full tuition
  • Receipt of enrollment confirmation from Brill Academy

Enrollment is first-come, first-served and subject to availability.

3.3 Program Requirements

Students are expected to:

  • Attend all scheduled sessions (live, virtual format)
  • Complete assigned work and participate actively
  • Engage respectfully with instructors, advisors, and peers
  • Adhere to program guidelines and conduct expectations

3.4 Parental Involvement

Parents or guardians are expected to:

  • Ensure the student has access to required technology (computer, internet connection)
  • Support the student's participation and time commitment
  • Communicate with Brill Academy regarding any concerns or accommodations needed

 


 

4. Tuition, Fees, and Payment

4.1 Tuition

Program tuition is as follows:

  • 4-Week Intensive: $4,500
  • 8-Week Accelerator: $9,000
  • Brill Academy Private (8-week 1:1): $15,000

All prices are in U.S. dollars.

4.2 Payment Terms

  • Full payment is due upon enrollment to secure the student's place in the cohort
  • Payment is processed securely through Stripe
  • Accepted payment methods: Credit card, ACH transfer (debit card)

4.3 No Refund Policy

All tuition payments are non-refundable. Once enrollment is confirmed and payment is received, no refunds will be issued for any reason, including but not limited to:

  • Student withdrawal or non-attendance
  • Dissatisfaction with program content or instruction
  • Technical difficulties on the student's end
  • Personal circumstances or scheduling conflicts

We encourage families to carefully review program details and ask questions before enrolling.

4.4 Price Changes

Brill Academy reserves the right to modify tuition and fees at any time. Price changes will not affect students already enrolled in a program.

 


 

5. Intellectual Property Rights

5.1 Brill Academy Content

All content provided through our Services, including but not limited to:

  • Curriculum materials, lesson plans, and instructional content
  • Website design, text, graphics, logos, and branding
  • Videos, presentations, and educational resources

are the intellectual property of Brill Academy, LLC and are protected by U.S. and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, publicly display, or create derivative works of our content without our prior written consent.

5.2 Student Work

Students retain ownership of the original business concepts, ideas, and creative work they develop during the program ("Student Work").

By enrolling in Brill Academy, parents and students grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to:

  • Use Student Work for educational purposes within the program (peer feedback, demo days, evaluations)
  • Feature Student Work in marketing materials or alumni showcases only with separate written parental consent

We will not use Student Work commercially or claim ownership of student ideas or intellectual property.

5.3 Trademarks

"Brill Academy," "Brill Ventures Showcase," and related logos and branding are trademarks of Brill Academy, LLC. You may not use our trademarks without our prior written permission.

 


 

6. User Conduct and Prohibited Activities

You agree not to:

  • Use our Services for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms
  • Harass, bully, threaten, or harm other students, instructors, or staff
  • Share inappropriate, offensive, or harmful content
  • Disrupt or interfere with the operation of our Services
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
  • Impersonate any person or entity
  • Collect or harvest personal information of other users without consent
  • Use our Services to promote or advertise products, services, or third-party content

Violations may result in immediate suspension or termination of access to our Services without refund of tuition paid.

 


 

7. Program Modifications and Cancellations

7.1 Program Changes

Brill Academy reserves the right to:

  • Modify program schedules, curriculum, or instructors as needed
  • Change session times or formats with reasonable notice
  • Substitute instructors or advisors when necessary

We will make reasonable efforts to notify enrolled families of material changes.

7.2 Program Cancellation by Brill Academy

If Brill Academy cancels a program due to unforeseen circumstances:

  • Families will be offered the option to transfer to a future cohort
  • All enrolled families will receive a full refund of tuition paid if they choose not to transfer
  • Refunds will be processed within 14 business days via the original payment method

 


 

8. Privacy and Data Protection

Your use of our Services is also governed by our PRIVACY POLICY, which explains how we collect, use, and protect personal information.

By using our Services, you consent to our data practices as described in the Privacy Policy, including:

  • Collection of student information with parental consent (for students under 13)
  • Use of Google Cloud for data storage
  • Use of Stripe for payment processing

 


 

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

Our Services are provided with care and commitment to quality. However, as with any educational program, we cannot guarantee specific outcomes.

What We Cannot Control:

  • Individual student effort, engagement, and learning pace
  • Technical issues on the student's end (internet connectivity, device compatibility)
  • External factors affecting a student's ability to participate fully

Outcomes May Vary:

While we provide professional instruction, expert mentorship, and structured guidance, we cannot guarantee:

  • That every student will develop a fundable or viable business
  • Acceptance to future educational programs or opportunities
  • That students will secure funding or successfully launch businesses after the program

Our Commitment:

We commit to delivering high-quality instruction, personalized feedback, and real-world entrepreneurial education. Student outcomes depend on individual effort, creativity, and circumstances beyond our control.

 


 

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Brill Academy, LLC, its officers, directors, employees, advisors, and affiliates shall not be liable for:

  • Any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages
  • Loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities
  • Personal injury or emotional distress
  • Damages arising from your use or inability to use our Services

Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or our Services shall not exceed the amount of tuition paid by you for the specific program in question.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability, so the above limitations may not apply to you.

 


 

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Brill Academy, LLC and its officers, directors, employees, advisors, and affiliates from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to:

  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your use of our Services
  • Your violation of any third-party rights
  • Any content or information you submit through our Services

 


 

12. Third-Party Services

Our Services may integrate with or link to third-party services, including:

  • Stripe: Payment processing (subject to Stripe's Terms of Service)
  • Google Cloud: Data storage (subject to Google's Terms of Service)

We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of third-party services. Your use of third-party services is governed by their respective terms and conditions.

 


 

13. Communications and Marketing

13.1 Program Communications

By enrolling in our Services, you consent to receive:

  • Program-related emails (schedules, updates, important notices)
  • Administrative communications (receipts, confirmations, policy changes)

These communications are necessary for program delivery and cannot be opted out of while enrolled.

13.2 Marketing Communications

If you subscribe to our mailing list, you consent to receive:

  • Cohort announcements and enrollment updates
  • Showcase event invitations
  • Occasional insights on entrepreneurship education

You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by clicking the "unsubscribe" link in any email or contacting us.

 


 

14. Dispute Resolution and Arbitration

14.1 Informal Resolution

Before filing any legal claim, you agree to first contact us to attempt to resolve the dispute informally. We will work in good faith to reach a mutually acceptable resolution.

14.2 Binding Arbitration

If we cannot resolve a dispute informally, you agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or our Services shall be resolved through binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules.

Arbitration terms:

  • Arbitration will be conducted in California
  • The arbitrator's decision will be final and binding
  • You waive your right to a jury trial
  • You waive your right to participate in a class action lawsuit

Exception: Either party may bring claims in small claims court if they qualify.

14.3 Class Action Waiver

You agree to resolve disputes with Brill Academy on an individual basis only. You waive any right to bring claims as part of a class action, collective action, or representative proceeding.

 


 

15. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

Any legal action or proceeding arising out of or relating to these Terms (excluding arbitration) shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Santa Clara County, California, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.

 


 

16. Modifications to Terms

Brill Academy reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by:

  • Posting the updated Terms on our website with a new "Last Updated" date
  • Sending an email notification to enrolled families

Your continued use of our Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you must discontinue use of our Services.

 


 

17. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

 


 

18. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our PRIVACY POLICY and ENROLLMENT POLICY, constitute the entire agreement between you and Brill Academy regarding your use of our Services and supersede any prior agreements or understandings.
